We’re are grateful to share that Pete Strom was been selected by the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center’s Board of Directors as our 2025 Advocate of the Year!

Pete was honored with the Rev. Sen. Clementa C. Pinckney Award for Justice at a special reception celebrating his incredible impact on justice and opportunity in South Carolina.

Pete’s relationship with SC Appleseed runs deep. As a long-time board member and one of our most generous supporters, he has helped guide our mission and strengthen our capacity to fight for low-income South Carolinians. Most notably, Pete played a pivotal role in securing a transformative cy pres award that continues to fund critical work on behalf of vulnerable communities across our state to this day. Pete’s legacy includes not only shaping our organization but also delivering hundreds of millions of dollars in relief to South Carolina utility ratepayers through landmark legal action, reflecting the depth of his lifelong commitment to justice.
