Kay Hightower
Kay Taylor Hightower is an attorney working on SC Appleseed’s new Addiction Recovery Coordination of Services (ARC) Initiative. The ARC Initiative’s mission is to educate the public about services available to individuals battling drug dependence and to assist in the coordination of those services.
Prior to joining SC Appleseed, Kay spent three years helping to reduce health disparities as the coordinator of the Budget and Control Board’s South Carolina Health and Information Services Program (SCHIDS). Kay was also an Assistant Attorney General in New York State and a staff attorney in the New York Regional Office of the Federal Trade Commission. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. Kay is married to Attorney Stephen Hightower and is the mother of one daughter, Bailey.
