Important information for SC Immigrants about Increased ICE Enforcement starting this Weekend

Posted in

U.S. Citizens and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that starting this Sunday, July 14, 2019, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will begin increased “targeted” enforcement across the country.

SC Appleseed is not aware of any specific upcoming ICE enforcement activity in SC, but we’re advising all immigrant families to consult our resources page, for more information on what to do if you encounter ICE and for making an emergency plan in case you or a loved one is detained.

Please contact Louise Pocock at SC Appleseed if you do know of planned ICE enforcement activity, or if you witness enforcement raids or detentions that occur in South Carolina. Please contact us if you would like to provide a Know Your Rights training for immigrant families in your community.
